Departmental Exchanges

Spend a semester or two exploring beautiful Parma Italy, the original home of parmesan cheese! 麻豆社鈥檚 Faculty of Agriculture offers a unique exchange program with the University of Parma. Exchange students will spend one or two semesters studying in Parma while paying 麻豆社 tuition rates.

Courses will be taught in English within several departments/areas of study including the Department of Economics and Management in International Business and Development, the Department of Food and Drug in Food Safety and Food Risk Management, the Department of Veterinary Science - 3rd year Precision Livestock Farming, and the Department of Engineering 鈥 Engineering for the Food Industry (machines for food processing).

Ready to get started on your application?

To start, you will need to reach out to your academic advisor. Your academic advisor will be able to guide you in building your semester, so that you can be sure that you will be taking the courses you need in order to graduate when you intend to.

Once you have created a plan for your semester abroad with the help of your academic advisor, your first step will be to apply for the departmental exchange with the University of Parma on the Dal AC International site.

Upon application, the Dal AC International Office will contact you to assist you with pre-departure items and the rest of the application process.

Next, you will apply for your exchange on the Halifax campus International Centre鈥檚 Apply Now 鈥 Departmental Exchange/Study Abroad page.

Once you have applied on the Halifax Campus page, be sure to follow all subsequent steps as outlined on the Study Abroad Guide page from the Halifax campus International Centre. Note that once you reach 鈥淪tep 2 鈥 Apply to the Host University鈥 on the Study Abroad Guide page, you will need to complete the that can be found on the University of Parma website.
